XTC/ Xiaozhou Transport Company (episode5 of SAT)
XTC is a virtual communication net connecting art institutes and art lovers around the world. Frank Gerlitzki is the company's general director. The visible signs of this project are the bus stations: installations created by their new owners around the "official bus stop sign".
By adding their own name and an unusual object/event for such a station they create a public piece of art and become part of the artwork. The future development of XTC will largely depend on these contributions, as in a second step all kind of further connecting activities are expected.
XTC is an open, experimental art project and a part of the SAT, a global idea, allowing artistic creation in public space. Various areas are transformed in a temporary or permanent artistic territory by interbention and interaction of artists using their skills, personnality, identity...
Bus stations are meeting and communication areas everybody experiences in his daily life. A place where people come together because of a common interest. XTC creates a worldwide net of these public socio-cultural spaces.
